Today's Sunday afternoon ride was held on a dry, mild but rather dull day. After meeting as usual at 2.15pm at Brookside, Mike K led eight of us east out of Cambridge along the Jubilee Cycleway to Quy. Then we turned right towards Little Wilbraham and Six Mile Bottom. After reaching Six Mile Bottom Mike led us up the hill that leads to West Wratting. However before we reached the top of the hill Mike led us back north again, past the Woodland Cemetery, to Dullingham. This is a very pleasant area of rolling farmland and narrow lanes.Mike's original plan had been to continue to Swaffham Bulbeck but we decided we wouldn't have enough time so took the more direct route back via the main Newmarket Road. Although this A-road was very quiet it was nice to join the cycle track at Bottisham. We then returned to Cambridge via Quy, Fen Ditton and the Jubilee Cycleway again before heading across the city centre to arrive at our tea stop - Jim's house in Newnham - over half an hour late. At tea we met the riders from the day ride as well as serveral other members.

Club member John L (who led last week's day ride to Puckeridge) is 80 tomorrow and so we had a cake and candles to mark the occasion.
Today's mileage (including the very short return to Cambridge city centre after tea) was 33 miles.
